Side by Side / living in Cazenove

23 January 2014 – 17 May 2014

Side by Side / living in Cazenove is an exhibition at Hackney Museum exploring what makes a community, and what roles. Funded by The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Hackney Museum is one of nine museums across the country taking a three-year look at their working practices and ways of engaging communities…

Following the commissioning of 17 local projects by Hackney Museum, Campbell Works was invited to co-curate and design and build the overall exhibition design.

This exhibition explores Cazenove Road in the north of the borough as an example of how people from all over the world live side by side in diverse Hackney.

The exhibition features a range of creative artworks, films and installation made by local people, community groups and schools working with local artists, filmmakers and photographers.

They have explored the nature of their communities through different faiths, cultures, histories, fashions, languages and foods and what it means to them to live in Hackney today.
