As the Olympic torch travelled through the streets of Hackney, Harriet Murray‘s new sculptural installation ‘Panting’ fluttered gently in the breeze.

Drawing attention to the economic and social contradictions entangled within the London 2012 Olympics, this new work by Murray celebrates the British ability to take nothing too seriously, even when faced with a corporate convoy of vehicular megaphones, whipping the crowds into a lobotinous frenzy.

Panting took place on the junction of the A10 & Belfast Road outside Stoke Newington BR Station on 21st July 2012
